I am kind of a super nerd when it comes to fitness gadgets. I admit when the very first shoe pod was released by Nike back in the 90’s, I got one and immediately started using the Nike Fitness App to track my runs. I did not buy the expensive shoes, I just rigged that pod on my own shoes and it worked just fine. But that shoe pod did nothing to make me fitter or faster. Obsessed with data does all this data really help us?
Enter the New World of technology and fitness. Well I say YES!! There are some really awesome apps out there that can make you fitter and faster. Basically whatever your goals are there is an app for you. Even if simply getting off the couch and trying to MOVE more each day is a goal. I am now a certified personal trainer and you can certainly pay someone like me to train you but you don’t have to. Your fitness and your health should be free. Every single person on earth should have access to better health and fitness to live our best lives. That is what is so great about these new resources. You can google any type of workout plan on the internet and there are countless apps both paid and free that are excellent resources for you. So check it out. You are sure to find one that speaks to you. Remember, it’s not going to help you if you don’t use it.
Here are a few of my favorites. All of them I have used and continue to be impressed with my results. Running: Charge Running is one of the coolest new comers. Experience LIVE Coaching while you run. When I say LIVE, I mean it! During your run, you’ll be guided by a professional trainer who updates you on your speed and distance in REAL TIME along with other runners. It’s really fun!! You really need to try it to see how incredibly cool this is, even for me who actually prefers to run alone. They offer LIVE, and On Demand Runs and Training Programs of all types. This is RUN specific and it’s awesome. I got 1st place in a Sprint Distance Triathlon for the 1st time EVER and I wasn’t even training for that distance. My run has improved so much it’s shocking. I’m 49 and I’m getting fitter, leaner and faster. It’s not a FREEBIE but it is truly personal coaching 24/7 at your fingers tips, so factor that in. Lots f different coaches, all great. Here is a 2 week free trial with this link Charge Running
Next up is FREE, The Nike Fitness Training Club is another full service app. This app pretty much has it all and I have been using it for a while to design some pretty awesome strength, power, cardio and endurance workouts. They even have yoga as an option. You can create monthly plans based on your goals that adjust based on your ratings as you progress. It’s pretty slick. There are images, audio and video tutorials to ensure you get the proper movements in. You can do full gym equipment workouts, use just a few dumbbells or just do Body Weight Workouts that are actually pretty tough. They have short and long workout options so if you only have 15 -20 minutes your covered. I give this 5 stars because it’s FREE and it’s a total body workout option.
These are a few others I have heard great things about but can not personally recommend Skorkit, Aaptiv (this one is good but I like Nike better). Let me know what gets you moving? My sister does Beachbody and she loves it. Was gets you moving? Let me know….
I am now podcasting ( Get Moving Minute) trying to build our little community. So if you need a little daily boost be sure to check it out. See the Feed here to the right of this post. Available now on the following… we are waiting for approval on Alexa and Echo Dot Flash Briefing….
